Modern Swirl Carved Sideboard Open Living Room

Picture a long, low cabinet against the living room wall, catching the afternoon light in its curls. The Modern Swirl Carved Sideboard Open Living Room is the kind of piece people reach out to touch as they walk by, because its swirls look as if they were drawn in one easy motion.

Carved by Eye

A straight groove can be checked with a ruler, but a curve has to be judged by sight all the way around. Each swirl on this sideboard is cut and then smoothed until the turn flows without a flat spot. Under the carving, joined wood blocks give the fronts enough thickness for real depth.

What You Get

• Swirling relief across the doors and drawer fronts
• Open cubbies set beside closed cabinets so the long body feels lighter
• Construction from wood blocks joined together
• A finish that brings out grain, tonal warmth and carved texture

Living With It

Use it as a media console, a buffet near the dining table, or a landing spot in a generous hallway. The top is ready for a lamp, a stack of art books or a few plants, while the cabinets swallow the things you would rather not see.

It is handcrafted to order from natural wood, so expect small differences in knots, grain, color and carving that make yours one of a kind.
